Your data

Privacy notice

This explains what happens to the details you give us when you register your interest in the Sort Our Sewage project. In short: we only use them to contact you about the project, and you can ask us to stop at any time.

Who is responsible for your data

The data controller is Friends of the River Medway (FoRM), the charity that runs the Sort Our Sewage project. The project's website is hosted in kind by Owletts Farm Partnership, whose systems pass your message on to FoRM on the charity's behalf (acting as a processor). To get in touch about your data, contact FoRM through formedway.org.

What we collect, and why

When you fill in the “register your interest” form, we collect:

  • Your name and email — so we can recognise you and get in touch.
  • Your area (a town or outward postcode) — so we can group nearby properties together for a shared local service.
  • Your system type and any message (both optional) — to understand your situation before we reply.

We ask only for what we need. We don't ask for your full address, and the form doesn't try to identify you in any other way.

Our lawful basis

We rely on your consent (UK GDPR Article 6(1)(a)). You give it by ticking the box on the form, and you can withdraw it at any time — see “Your rights” below. Withdrawing won't affect anything we did before you asked us to stop.

What happens to your message

Your details are sent straight to a Friends of the River Medway inbox as an email and arenot stored in any database on this website. The email travels via our email provider, Brevo (Sendinblue SAS), which transmits it on our behalf. From there, FoRM holds your details to manage the project and contact you about it. We do not sell your data or share it with anyone else for marketing.

How long we keep it

FoRM keeps your details for as long as the project is active and you remain interested, and reviews them periodically. If you withdraw, or the project ends, your details are deleted.

Your rights

You can ask FoRM to give you a copy of your data, correct it, delete it, or stop using it — and you can withdraw your consent at any time. Just contact FoRM throughformedway.org. If you're unhappy with how your data has been handled, you can complain to the UK's Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) atico.org.uk.

Cookies and tracking

This site is deliberately simple: it sets no cookies and usesno analytics or third-party tracking. Our web server keeps standard, short-lived access logs (including IP addresses) to keep the site secure and running — a routine, legitimate use that every website relies on.

Changes

This is the first version of our privacy notice, and may be updated as the project grows. Any material change will be reflected here.
